ETL/DATA WAREHOUSE DEVELOPER

SKILLS: Oracle, PL/SQL, ETL Development (DataStage or similar tool a plus), Data modelling

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Creates, documents, reconciles and maintains logical and physical models reflecting the state and use of data across the organization
- Responsible for the capture, integration and publication of descriptive metadata across the various applications and tools
- Designs, documents, develops, tests, installs and supports complex data extract, transformation and load (ETL) programs
- Maintains data integrity by working to eliminate redundancy
- Supports business and system re-engineering and architecture development to define future data needs
- Serves as an organizational consultant on matters relating to databases by providing expertise to assist users in meeting their needs
- Works with business users to gather requirements and formulate the scope of projects
- Defines and captures metadata and business rules in coordination with other data warehouse team members to support projects
- Ensures consistent application of data naming, data modelling and metadata standards across the organization
- Determines methods and processes for extracting data from source systems, transforming the data and loading it in the data warehouse
- Captures and documents business rules for transforming source data into target data

QUALIFICATIONS:

- A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems or a related field and five years of database design and data warehousing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Extensive Oracle PL/SQL experience necessary
- Data modelling and business process redesign experience strongly preferred
- Experience tuning complex queries and SQL ETL applications desirable
- DataStage a plus
