Estimator

A leading engineering firm is currently seeking a Senior Estimator to produce estimates at conceptual, detailed, and construction phases. Client would like 5+ years estimating experience with refinery, petrochemical, and/or heavy industrial projects. This position is located in Chicago and is slated as a contract-to-perm position. Highly qualified candidates looking to only work direct will also be considered. Relocation assistance is available for strong regional candidates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Act as the team leader for individual projects regarding development of total installed cost estimates.
- Develop and establish detailed engineering, procurement, contracting and construction cost estimates for a wide range ($100k to $500M) heavy industrial construction projects.
- Participation in estimating and establishing Total Install Cost (TIC) estimates use for budgetary and planning purposes.
- Prepare periodic progress reports to reflect status of the projects as engineering, design, and procurement and construction progress.
- Assist with coordination of all phases of project development including conceptual, preliminary and definitive estimates and schedules.
- Assist in developing lump sum contractor bids for General or Mechanical Contractors.

REQUIREMENTS

- 5+ years experience in preparation of Estimates and establishing budgets.
- BS in an applicable Engineering Discipline or in Construction Engineering/Management or equivalent experience is highly desired. Relevant experience will also be considered.
- CCC/CCE certification by AACE is a plus.
- Experience with Aspen Icarus is highly desired.
- Experience estimating projects in a refining or petrochemical facility is highly desired.
