Estimator

An engineering and construction client has an immediate need for 2 Estimators responsible for developing independent cost estimates for long term projects and current maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction projects using Timberline or RS Means in the Arlington, VA, area. These are TEMP-TO-PERM positions. Local candidates only. Proof of US citizenship required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Review Contractor proposals and assist with contract negotiations
- Prepare ROMs for construction projects, AE studies, or maintenance work during the planning phase
- Prepare IGEs for construction projects, AE studies, or maintenance work once SOW requirements are defined and for any contract change orders
- Review contractor pricing from proposals through change orders, and identify any issues with the costing
- Support Project Manager in negotiations

REQUIREMENTS

- 4 year degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or related field)
- 5+ years of related work experience involving typical estimating activities
- Familiar with typical project controls software such as DMCS (Document and Materials Control System)
- Familiarity with Design Build contracts preferred
