Estates Project Manager- Contract- Birmingham- to £405 per day

My client a well-known public sector organisation is looking to recruit an experienced project manager in Birmingham. Must have experience of Prince 2 and agile- accredited in some recognised PM methodology, track record of having successfully delivered estates projects previously, project management in estates, working in collaboration with a wide range of contracts.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

* Manage work to ensure that risk and issues are appropriately identified, assessed and managed to enable successful delivery the clients objectives
*Provide necessary management to ensure that the work required for the Birmingham and Nottingham enables the project to deliver to time, cost and quality
*Ensure delivery of the required outputs or deliverables detailed in the project plan for the office estate strategy
*Ensure the establishment and effective working of Project Boards engendering closer working and cooperation to steer through objectives in the context of the wider departmental and government strategies.
*Undertaking the necessary duties in planning and managing the project from outset to closure, including co-ordinating and justifying business case development to stakeholders and accurately determining the project objectives and priorities; effectively evaluating impact and benefits to the agency; ensuring planning tools and techniques are applied effectively
*Developing and managing the project plan to support the activity, resources and interdependencies, thoroughly considering assumptions, constraints and dependencies ensuring that these are fully recorded, monitored and managed
*Identifying, assessing, managing and mitigating risks and issues and effectively communicating to appropriate stakeholders; ensuring that risk management tools and techniques are applied effectively; allocates appropriate risk ownership
*Monitoring performance against plans to enable effective corrective action; making effective decisions based on project progress; knowing what and when to refer to other decision making bodies and effectively communicating progress; ensuring performance measurement and review tools and techniques are applied effectively; establishing and maintaining effective internal and external feedback mechanisms; actively seeking information that may have an impact on the project and maintaining effective records
*Managing resources, gaining appropriate buy-in from other staff; recognising the need for team development; identifying, communicating and escalating conflicts on demands or skills
*Managing the project budget, monitoring and communicating project expenditure to the Programme Manager and appropriate stakeholders
*Provide appropriate contribution in effectively highlighting the need for change and seeking authorisation, participating in the communication of change to the department; maintaining effective project change control records and effectively evaluating the impact of assignment change and making recommendations
*Effectively applying configuration management tools and techniques; identifying, tracking and protecting the unique project assets/documentation; effectively recording and reporting status; uses version control procedures to ensure conformity; and ensuring that material on the network complies with departmental protocols
*Supporting the Senior management Team to influence required changes in behaviour buy application of flexible working and TW3 tools where appropriate to ensure efficient use of space whilst supporting the requirement of operational delivery

Key Knowledge and Skills

*Experience of working for a public sector organisation
*Proven experience of facilities management

Desirable:

*National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH)

Security Clearance: BPSS Baseline Personnel Security Standard- (With a DBS)
