BACKGROUND TO ENGAGEMENT:

ENVIRONMENT MANAGER/ENVIRONMENT PORTFOLIO LEAD

My client, a leading energy provider is looking to engage a dynamic ENVIRONMENTS MANAGER to join their core team of 12 individuals from their Cardinal place office in London. This is an exciting time to join the TRM project as they approach the development phase and it would suit a dynamic individual who has experience with managing 3rd party suppliers. You will require an understanding of project requirements and be able to react to what is evolving on a daily basis. As ENVIRONMENTS MANAGER you will challenge and progress the project through this essential phase.

ENVIRONMENTS MANAGER: length of Contract 3 months rolling.

SCOPE OF WORK:

ENVIRONMENT MANAGER/ENVIRONMENT PORTFOLIO LEAD

This role is all about ensuring these environments, code releases and test/migration/training data required for the TRM Simplification project is fit for purpose enabling the implementation and business teams to deliver the project successfully and to time. Working with the EDF internal CIO function and external third parties, you will ensure the environments are fully functioning, delivered on time to the implementation plan, there is an escalation route for issues, and you manage these on behalf of the project team. When the environment activities move to BAU the scope will be much more about immediate issue management. There may be messages and issues when carrying out day-to-day activities, you will work with internal and external teams to manage these.

* Experience of working within environments/design and build teams on a large programme.. Maintaining and updating project plans. Risk/Issue Management. Stakeholder Management Required Skills: Environments Manager. Technical Project Management. Experience of working with technical teams in the delivery of a dev/test environment. Experience of data management. The ability to pick up things quickly and establish a technical support framework

DELIVERABLES - ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT/ENVIRONMENT PORTFOLIO LEAD

* Identify environment gaps and the corresponding data requirements.. Managing daily environments and data queries.. First step in the escalation route if a project has technical challenges. Whilst you will not be the one to fix or correct all things you will be the channel to ensure quick and efficient resolution to limit any impacts to project delivery.. Working with the CIO and external third party teams to align project environment requirements.. Acts as owner of TRM Simplification environments, approving required changes into environments and liaising with the 3rd parties responsible for provisioning the.. Creating detailed plans for the provisioning of new environment and communicating slippages and challenges.. Informing CIO with environment challenges, date changes and requirement changes.. Attending project management meetings.. Work with the IT Ops to establish environment differences (to maintain view of other changes going live that may impact the project delivery/deliverables).

DELIVERABLES - ENVIRONMENTS MANAGER/ENVIRONMENT PORTFOLIO LEAD

* Release management & deployment into the relevant environments.. Working with the CIO and IT Ops teams to review existing processes relating to code/configuration management and branch/merge strategy to facilitate compliance across projects. Create a detailed plan for TRM Simplification releases to test and live environments available to the project. Investigate and create project procedures for releases into test and live environment (this is the 'how' project workstreams will co-ordinate and work together ). Investigate release conflicts and recommend procedures to mitigate conflicts working with project, CIO, IT Ops and external third party Teams.. Coordinate deployment and releases into the test and live environments including production backflush ensuring code merges are made and re-migrated to test environment.. Dealing with all related issues - including escalation management. Working with Developers, Testers, Data Migration and Business Readiness teams to share and gain better understanding of the release and deployment challenges.

DELIVERABLES - TEST DATA MANAGEMENT: ENVIRONMENTS MANAGER

* Working with the project team and external environment provision team to help them refine data requirements (owning the template and co-ordination with data).. Working with the project team to ensure the correct volume of data is built, ready and delivered.. Responsible for ensuring the correct quality and volume of data is ready for delivery. This would of course be based on the information provided to you as part of your plan.. Coordinate the test data requirements by working with external support teams during the deployment into the test environment.. Working with project teams to ensure that data is tested prior to full implementation.. Managing the frequency of data loading into test environments.. Ensure there is clarity across the project deliverables and the impact on data.
