Environmental Health and Safety Specialist Job

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY SPECIALIST needed for a six (6) MONTH CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in EMERYVILLE, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Participate in the investigation of incidents, near misses and property damage incidents. Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and proper records/documents are maintained
- .Conduct, coordinate and track various training to support company programs
- Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practices.
- Maintain internal and regulatory reporting including data collection and reporting including but not limited to air, storm water, hazardous and medical waste.
- Maintain compliance with permits, government regulations and other industry practices.
- Serve as contact for all regulatory agencies for inspections, permitting, reporting (air, water, waste).

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's or Masters degree in an EHS discipline (Safety, Environmental Health, etc.)
- Experience in pharmaceutical R&D or manufacturing preferred, with at least four years EHS experience
- High degree of proficiency in computer software applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization
- Thorough knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations related to environmental, health and safety
