ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in LULING, LA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The responsibilities of this position fall into several categories including: technical background in various environmental topics and media; oral and written communication skills; and leadership and management abilities. Specifically, the responsibilities are further defined as follows:
- Reviewing and interpreting complex environmental regulations and accurately applying environmental engineering principles to plant operations.
- Preparing permit applications and negotiating with regulators to provide maximum flexibility for plant operations.
- Developing systems and methods as required to implement and demonstrate compliance with permits and regulations
- Completing and submitting accurate and timely regulatory reports and agency correspondence
- Managing day-to-day environmental compliance issues and working with site personnel to support plant questions, needs, and training efforts.
- Anticipating new regulations and minimizing their impact through cost-effective solutions
- Carry out activities in a scientific archive for documents and specimens generated under GLP and other quality management systems.
- Activities include receipt, verification, and archiving of data, reports, and specimens involved in scientific studies utilizing a computerized systems.
- This is a customer-focused role to support Regulatory scientists by maintaining research data in a secure and readily-accessible manner.
- Additional duties may include receiving, verifying, and archiving data from external sources, supporting improvement projects in the Archives, and assisting scientists in locating necessary data

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or technical field of study required.
- Minimum 3 years of environmental, quality, safety or health regulatory experience preferred.
- Experience in a chemical manufacturing setting preferred.
- A desire for an upwardly mobile career and is supportive of relocation and position movement.
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
- Previous experience working with governmental regulatory agencies desired.
- Strong decision-making and problem solving skills.
- Self directed individual that can work with little supervision and direction.
- Demonstrates the ability to lead projects, assignments and/or teams
- Able to manage and process relevant data and information into concise reports and compliance monitoring programs.
- Flexible and able to respond quickly to changing job demands and can prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work as an individual contributor and as part of a diverse team composed of engineers, operations personnel, plant leadership, and corporate management.
- Proficient in Windows based computer programs (ie, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access).
- Demonstrated interest in cross training into other environmental, health and/or safety fields and duties.
