Environment Manager

ENVIRONMENT MANAGER, TEST ENVIRONMENT, UNIX, DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT, SC CLEARANCE,

OUR CLIENT, IT SOLUTIONS PROVIDER IS LOOKING FOR AN ENVIRONMENT MANAGER FOR A 10 MONTH CONTRACT TO BE BASED IN DURHAM.

Contractor will need to be the point of contact to authorise developers to create new environments and will need to monitor to ensure that dev/test environments are torn down when no longer needed to ensure resources are available and that licence costs are not incurred.

Key Deliverable:

- Monitor the availability of the environment according to plan.
- Track releases, upgrades and changes to the development and test environments.
- Log, coordinate and resolve environment defects.
- Plan the reuse or decommission of environment when testing is complete.
- Coordinate test environment configuration, deployment and test activities required to provide a stable test platform.
- Ensure monitoring of environments is conducted.
- Communicate hardware requirements to Infrastructure Management.
- Allocate project infrastructure based on the project requirements. Environment management may allow environment sharing where the technologies are similar and where there is sufficient capacity.

Required Skills:

- SC CLEARANCE IS A MUST
- Knowledge of both Windows and RHEL environments
- Citrix farms an advantage
- Need to be familiar with the change control process and raise and manage change requests (inc. getting resources assigned) as required
