Enterprise Architect Required!

Enterprise Architect / Health Sector Background / 6 Month Contract / Located in Leeds / Regular Travel to London / Immediate Start / £550-£600 per day

Capita are urgently recruiting for an experienced Enterprise Architect with a strong background working within the Healthcare sector. This is a 6 month contract, located in Leeds with regular travel to London.

You will focus on delivery of key initiatives around interoperability, identity management and other technology strategy cross-cutting themes. You will provide a key bridge between business requirements and technical requirements, interpreting the needs of NHS England and the wider system and turning them into a clear expression of the national architecture for informatics. The Enterprise Architect will engage with these wide range of programme themes to develop the informatics components of the national enterprise architecture, and with the business systems team to commission solutions and ensure the necessary delivery assurance through delivery partners.

Responsible for:

* Definition of the key capabilities of the enterprise architecture in line with emerging strategies and to support the delivery of their objectives.
* The definition of the key underpinning architecture principles of the enterprise architecture.
* Architecture definition of key technology strategies supporting key outcomes for NHS England and the wider system.
* Working closely with programmes teams on the alignment of their proposed architectural approaches with the overall enterprise architecture and architecture principles.
* Ensuring enterprise architectural governance is established across the system and followed through with delivery partners.
* Leading and delivering the architectural definition across cross-cutting architectural themes that underpin the enterprise architecture.
* Ensuring alignment to wider architectural strategies such as the Cabinet Office ICT Strategy.
* Recommending technical standards and by working in conjunction with the Patients and Information standards function, to ensure the right levers are in place to ensure that information standards are implemented effectively.
* Liaise with functions within the NHS England and the wider NHS

Key outcomes:

* Defines the key logical services/capabilities of the Enterprise Architecture.
* Defines the key underpinning architecture principles and policies
* Creation of key architectural strategies for cross-cutting themes that underpin the enterprise architecture
* Definition of the logical services that underpin the key information flows for the NHS and wider system
* Establishes architectural adherence of the programmes in the portfolio through the use of relevant enterprise architecture artefacts.
* Identifies key technical standards required to support the implementation of the technical architecture and to support the information standards
* Detailed technical advice on enterprise architecture is provided as needed.
* Best practice on EA applied to the NHS is promoted.

Key Working Relationships

* The post holder will be required to have regular contact with internal and external stakeholders and will often need to engage with them over sensitive, complex, contentious and confidential issues.
* Participate in relevant internal and external working groups/projects, services and initiatives to provide project, information and analytical advice and expertise.
* Present project information and issues, explaining complexities, to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* To liaise with other Managers to share best practice

Essential Skills

* Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area
* Thorough knowledge of information and technology use in the NHS and the wider care environment
* Thorough and detailed knowledge of enterprise architecture theory & practice, nationally and internationally
* Strong analytical skills and an ability to synthesise solutions based on multiple and sometimes conflicting requirements
* Knowledge and experience of an appropriate enterprise systems methodology

Desirable Skills

* Understanding of health policy and expert knowledge about health systems and system improvement, in the NHS, third sector, international healthcare and the wider domestic and international health industry (Desirable
