Engineering Technician Job

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in PHOENIX, AZ.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics, blue prints, work orders, production drawings, and sample assemblies.
- Must have Fine Pitch soldering experience and previous certification
- Electromechanical theory and practices; tools, materials, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.
- Current IPC-A-610 Certification and J-Std-001 Certification.
- Experience with the following equipment: Dynamometer, Frequency response analyzer, Power analyzer, LCR Bridge.
- Experience with Lab View, Visual Basic, or equivalent test software programming language or tools.
- Ability to independently design and fabricate electronic circuits and/or assemblies in support of product development.
- Familiarity with National Instruments PXI Chassis or similar modular test equipment systems

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- A key contributor to the development and modification of prototypes and able to assist engineers with the testing and debugging of designs.
- Processing and microscopic imaging of plant material and general laboratory and green house work.
- Troubleshoot to component level and repair analog, digital, and power electronic circuits.
- Ability to prototype and develop custom test setups for the evaluation of circuit performance.
- Electrical fabrication including: Soldering, Harness design/fabrication
- Connection of component lead wires between fines pitched ICs within a printed circuit assembly or to connectors, terminals, and contact points.
- Mechanical fabrication including: Shearing, cutting, and drilling, Crimping, staking, Design and use jigs and fixtures
- Assembly of custom enclosures and fixtures to support development and test activities.
- Independently inspect work for in-process defects against authority data such as drawings and assembly specifications.
- Proactively identify process improvement opportunities, utilizing lean manufacturing principals.
- Maintain accurate records of assembly work and inspections performed.
- Order and maintain inventory of replacement parts electronic equipment.
- Applies lean manufacturing principles and identifies opportunities for process improvements.
- Bending, stretching and lifting may be required up to 50 pounds.
- May require: Sustained standing and sitting, reaching, prolonged head and neck positioning, finger dexterity and manipulation, working with a microscope for long periods of time.
- Position requires use of safety eyewear, hearing protection, ESD smock and related attire.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- AA Degree in Electronics with eight (8) years minimum experience in repair maintenance and operation of aerospace electronic equipment and/or working in an Engineering Lab environment.
- Proficiency with the following bench equipment: Oscilloscope, Logic analyzer, DMM, Power supplies.
- Current IPC-A-610 Certification and J-Std-001 Certification.
- Must have Fine Pitch soldering experience and previous certification.
- Able to understand the following: Ohms law, Transient response of RC and RL circuits, Transistor technologies (FET and BJT) and their basic operation
- Mechanical ability, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required to build various assemblies using drawings and instructions.
- Able to use various types of hand tools and hand-held power tools.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
