ENGINEERING DESIGN & IMPLEMENTATION MANAGER - DEFENCE

This is a job opportunity for a contract position in Government.

The Design Services Task Manager is responsible for the management of the delivery of Design Services Tasks associated with Viking, BV206 and BRV and the co-ordination of to meet the specific requirements of the customers in terms of location and time, in the most coherent and appropriate way.

REQUIREMENTS

What we basically need is someone who has an Engineering background preferably from a management point of view, understands either private sector defence company workings or Government/Military and who is willing to learn the design and implementation processes in relation to modifications on these vehicles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support line manager with continuous improvement activity, supporting internal/external initiatives and identifying opportunities, as required, to improve the efficiency with which activity is undertaken across the ISP Project Teams.

2. Providing assurance to the Line manager that departmental policies and procedures are being adhered to and applied consistently across ISP.

3. Managing current and future DS Tasks, ensuring that ISP requirements are fully satisfied and deliver value for money.

4. Liaising with internal/external stakeholder's regards prioritisation of DS tasks and de-confliction of the DS programme, minimising impact on Time, Cost, Performance and Quality.

5. Monitor and report on contractor task performance and report on DS financial position to DS line manager.

6. Assist ISP staff in the preparation (non-core element) of cost estimates required to support the annual financial planning round.

7. Attend internal, external and ad-hoc meetings, as required, to support of the DS function across the ISP. (Policy, Configuration Control, Technical, Defect, Modification, Project and other).
