ENGINEER IN MATEHEMATICS - DATA SCIENCE - ICT - FRENCH OR DUTCH - BELGIUM

Our client is looking for an engineer with a strong level in applied mathematics and software engineering, within their department specialized in Applied Mathematics, Data Science and ICT. Engineer with a strong level in software engineering (or reversely).

MISSION:
applied mathematics in a broad sense, with a focus on data science (including data processing and statistics, not necessarily big data), algorithmic, numerical computing.
problem analysis and formal definition, very close to the business,
technical design and architecture,
development,
long-term solution life cycle and project management

COMPETENCES IN MATHEMATICS:
o Data Processing, Machine learning, Forecasting
o Statistics, Measurement theory
o Signal Processing
o Optimization
o Linear algebra
o Graph theory

COMPETENCES IN SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT:
o Programming Languages (for example, Python, NumPy, .NET, C/C++)
o Numerical Computing
o Algorithmic
o Design Patterns

PRIORITIES:
Passion for math, complex conceptual reasoning, rigor
Efficiency in programming; code quality (clarity, correctness, comments, ); code reusability
Collaboration and communication with colleagues.
Working knowledge of English + either Dutch or French
