Engineer II

Engineer II works directly with R&D Engineers and System Designers to implement test plans for future and existing Printed Circuit Assemblies (PCAs), electrical/mechanical assemblies, and software-controlled medical systems. The purpose of this position is to implement a product test strategy for PCA level testing, sub-assembly level testing, and system level testing. This engineer leverages automated testing, functional testing, and PCA specific testing to provide an efficient suite of tests that insures a high first pass yield for the product. This engineer works with R&D to design testability into the product during the development stages and then helps introduce the product into Production.

Key Responsibilities

* Interfaces with Digital Hardware, Analog Hardware, and Software Design Engineers to define test strategy, critical performance parameters and test vectors for analog/digital PCAs and other electrical/mechanical assemblies.
* Works with R&D engineers to design testability into new products.
* Interfaces with the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout designer to create appropriate test points for good ICT coverage.
* Writes/releases appropriate test procedures, (board level test, sub-assembly level test, and system level test) and trains the test technicians on proper execution and troubleshooting. Also, works with suppliers to develop/improve their test methods.
* Creates appropriate software or firmware code to perform and automate test processes both in-house and at suppliers.
* Supervises the design, fabrication and troubleshooting of functional test fixtures/stations. This includes creation of appropriate fixture design documentation.
* Validates test methods and test fixtures in FDA-regulated medical environment.
* Other duties as assigned, such as core team membership, assistance for production/supplier troubleshooting, and input for supplier selection.

Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelor's in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
