EMS Control Systems Engineer - Powertrain

EMS Control Systems Engineer Our client is a prestigious automotive company based in the Midlands and are looking to recruit two additional an EMS Controls Systems Engineer to join their expanding team. The EMS Controls Systems Engineer is required to define, calibrate and validate the engine management control systems for Gasoline powertrains across all vehicle programmes. Specifically PC based skills to plan, co-ordinate, execute and sign off testing programmes (Excel, Matlab, Simulink, INCA), Requirements capture, understanding and development and sign-off testing based on and driven by requirements are required. Advanced data analysis skills (analysis scripts and data mining) and automated test development are also part of this role, with the longer term aim to automate testing and sign off activity.

Candidates will therefore have the following skills and experience:
Excellent level of experience in Automotive, Aviation or Electronics Engineering (technical background).
Electronic control system knowledge and experience as a minimum
Would suit electronics, mechatronics or software engineer as well as mechanical systems engineer.
Experience of component or system delivery especially programming or system testing.
Electronic control system design and calibration experience
Good understanding and application of Design quality tools (DFMEA, Robustness, etc).
Good analytical skills and PC literate.
Must be a self-starter able to work alone and as part of large team.
Good communication, interpersonal skills and self-confidence are the personal qualities needed to succeed

Desirable Skills
Green Belt trained.
Understanding of the application of electronic control systems would be an advantage.
Automated test programming.
Experience with EMS software specifications/mechanisations.
Previous experience of delivering automated tests and leading system validation tests.

Additional Information:
Primarily based at Whitley but must be willing to travel to other sites (Gaydon)/Facility providers (Universities/Consultancies)
