Embedded Software Engineer (Voice Solutions) Job

Yoh has an excellent contract opportunity for an EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER to join our client in Arlington Heights, IL.

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the research, development, integration, and deployment of advanced hands-free audio components for Embedded automotive products. Identify performance challenges and assess feasibility during the design phase.
- Technologies of interest include acoustic echo cancellation, noise suppression, speech enhancement, and multi-microphone solutions.
- Contribute to definition of new software architectures and implementation solutions.
- Develop methodologies and procedures to improve overall efficiency and product quality
- Act as subject matter expert for specific knowledge domains.
- Contribute to the generation of customer facing documents.
- Act as technical lead for hands-free audio on customer programs.
- Interface with customers and suppliers as needed.
- Drive engineering requirements specifications and field issue resolution.
- Responsibilities include unit/system testing, documentation, coordination of formal releases for multiple programs, debugging of integration issues as well as testing and parameter tuning of algorithms/systems on target vehicles, either at customer site or at Continental locations.
- Work products should comply with industry software engineering process requirements such as SEI's CMM, SPICE, etc.

Job Qualifications:
- MANDATORY: Requires ten (10+) years in Audio/Speech processing job.
- Experience: Minimum of a MSc in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Digital Signal Processing.
- Deep understanding in Digital Signal Processing and speech/audio technologies as applied to the automotive environment.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, C/C++, Real Time operating systems, and Embedded software development is required.
- Knowledge of Scripting languages (Perl or Python) is a plus.
- Experience in a customer facing role is preferred.
- Works well in team settings in fast-paced environment.
- Willing to take initiative and goal oriented.
- Ability to scope tasks considering technical, business, and time-frame constraints.
- Solid organization skills and a strong sense of accuracy and quality in your daily tasks is a must.
- Ability to supervise or mentor junior staff.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
