Embedded Software Engineer (f/m) for Web-Enabled Sensors

Tasks:

In the scope of a research and development project our customer focus on the IP and web connectivity of edge devices, such as sensors and actuators, and develop innovative solutions to equip such devices with web communication capabilities.

We are seeking an experienced software engineer who will support the customers software development team onsite in the development of web based communication protocols on such tiny embedded devices.

The core responsibilities are:

- Implementation of IP and web protocols, e.g. TCP/IP, HTTP, web services and DPWS, in C for embedded platforms with 16/32 bit micro-controllers (such as MSP430, NIOSII)
- Implementation of automatable tests to ensure the correct functioning and efficiency of the implemented components
- Integration of the implemented protocols along with platform software including RTOS (such as eCOS, Contiki, FreeRTOS) and embedded TCP/IP stack (such as uIP, LwIP)
- Implementation of reference and example applications for demonstration and testing purposes

The candidate is also expected to support the team in the development of a toolkit for the efficient development of web-enabled embedded device including code generators and PC based reference clients and servers in Java.

Prerequisite:

- Work allowance for Germany

Skills:

- 3+ years of work experience in software development projects within a team
- 5+ years of programming experience in C/C++ and good skills in Java
- Extensive experience in embedded software development
- In-depth knowledge of IP and web based communication protocols, e.g. TCP,UDP and HTTP
- Experience with REST, Web Services, SOAP and WSDL is desired
- Good skills of team work and communication
