Email Designer

Our high-visibility client is looking for an Email Designer to join their Creative and Production Solutions Team. As a member of the team, the Email Designer will ensure the flawless creation of all email marketing communications to the highest standard. Applicants should have a masterful grasp of designing for email and will be responsible for turning marketing requirements into high impact email campaigns.

This is a fast-paced creative role within a results orientated team. Ideally, applicants would have worked in a similar environment previously, either agency or client side, wholly dedicated to email production and be very familiar with email content and best practices. Applicants need to be at the forefront of email design, with their finger on the pulse of emerging trends, platform capabilities and coding techniques.

Primary responsibilities:

- Top-notch Designer who thrives on working with a nimble creative team in support of the US email team
- Creates spot-on, versatile email designs in a fast-paced, fun environment
- Partners with other Designers, Writers, Market Managers, and UI Experts to create, test, and implement marketing emails and other promotional requests
- Does what it takes to improve the customer experience
- Can think and react quickly to the changing business needs
- Clearly understands the strategic advantages/pitfalls specific to email design in an online retail environment
- Ensures consistency of the client brand and style guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5 or more years' experience as a consumer-focused Designer and
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 2 years' Graphic/Web/Email Design experience developing and implementing email programs for E-commerce marketing programs
- E-commerce, merchandising, advertising, and/or marketing design experience essential
- Good understanding of HTML basics
- Experience with imaging in Illustrator or Photoshop (Photoshop preferred)
- Online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating user-centered design solutions with effective and elegant visual solutions required for application
- Experience designing customer-oriented, transaction-focused product solutions
- Knowledge of best practices, limitations and constraints of Front End presentation principals and browser limitations, including HTML and CSS
- Knowledge of the travel industry a plus
- Experience with Marketing campaigns a plus
- E-commerce or Global Company experience a plus
- Fresh perspective and ability to make recommendations
- Great attitude, team player, comfortable in fast paced environment
- High attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with team members
- Ability to communicate complex topics in clear, easy-to-understand terms
- Strong collaboration for inclusive review processes
- Proficiency in layout and composition, typography, image optimization and slicing with advanced experience in Photoshop, Illustrator and Fireworks
- Ability to stay current with industry standards to ensure compelling design solutions

- Understanding of program objectives, scope, and business needs
- Strong organizational abilities and ability to multitask

This contract position is expected to be 6 months in duration with possibility of extension and conversion to Contract to Hire.
