Electronics Test Engineer

We are looking to recruit an electronic engineer to join the Avionics team with a prestigious client on the South Coast to support work on the design test and verification phase of a large aviation project.

The successful candidate will follow the test procedures and develop test methods against the existing verification plans/procedures, perform and document the testing, populate verification matrices with results and write verification statements to support areas of the design that are verified by analysis. The development of the test methods may involve, where suitable, the development of test sequences using National Instruments Labview/TestStand. The candidate may also be requested to perform fault finding, diagnosis and corrective actions should any of the testing lead to design changes.

The ideal candidate will be:
*Familiar with electronics validation and verification techniques, preferably from an avionics background.
*Comfortable with using a requirements management tool such as DOORS or Cradle and writing design verification statements within the tool.
*Competent in general analogue/digital electronic analysis and ideally previous experience of avionics electronics and communications interfaces (ARINC-429, CANbus) and aircraft equipment designed to meet RTCA DO-160.
*Although not directly related to this new role, it would be desirable for the candidate to have had previous experience with components such as Actel anti-fuse FPGAs, Atmel PLDs, PowerPC 603, MIL-STD-1553 transceivers, and 28Vdc aircraft supplies.
*Experienced in component selection for severe environments and familiar with robustness testing such as HALT/HASS methodologies.
*Familiar with design tools such as CADSTAR, LTSpice, Labview/TestStand, ModelSim
