Electronics Design Engineer [electronic Warfare]

Commutable Locations: Hampshire/Dorset/Surrey/Berkshire

Our client has a requirement for 4-8 weeks for a Contractor to take a technical lead role in the bid phase of a hardware-in-the-loop RF design project for Electronic Warfare applications; technologies including RF design, electronic design, Real Time FPGA-based modelling, software design and Simulink.

This Contract has the potential to go on for 1-2 years should the Client be successful in their bid.

Role:

To take a detailed System Requirement and generate a design concept with estimates (and rationalised basis of estimate) and programme planning. Provide the input to make/buy decisions, source best value solutions/suppliers, provide statements of work/specifications and obtain firm fixed quotes from suppliers. Assist with the compilation of a risk register and mitigation strategy.

Experience
- RF system design
- Specification/design of RF systems operating up to 18 GHz
- Proven experience in writing winning technical proposals
- Proven experience in producing materials estimates
- Proven experience in identifying technical risks and mitigation strategies

Knowledge and Skills
- Familiarity with high sampling rate ADC/DAC technology
- Knowledge of DSP techniques and hardware

Desirable
- Systems including FPGA technology
- Hardware in the loop applications
- Real Time applications
- Understanding of EW techniques
