Electro/Mechanical Design Project Engineer

Primary responsibilities:
* Technical design lead and team member
* Design of systems and the design/selection of electro-mechanical installation hardware to meet contracted requirements and defined standards
* Liaise/lead project assigned draughtspersons
* Analysis/establishment of contract technical requirements; (and where appropriate Customer expectations)
* Preparation of specifications, test instructions, reports and plans
* Creation of sufficiently detailed work packages for drawing office to produce drawing and parts lists
* Reviewing drawings and parts list to verify compliancy with specified requirements
* Conduct/organise Technical Trials and testing where required
* Conduct feasibility studies and engineering assessments
* Technical liaison with customers, internal departments and sub-contractors
* Provision of technical assistance to the production department when required
* Supporting technical reviews/presentations with customer
* Understanding statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the design
* Understanding Health & Safety aspects related to own work area and responsibilities
* Preparation of technical input and estimates for addition of unplanned work
* Maintenance of effective records of design compliancy and source data configuration
* Good office computer skills in a range of Microsoft applications
* Experience in the use of Solid Works CAD with ability to operate other CAD packages an advantage (but drawings will be done by the Drawing Office).
* Will report to the Engineering Department Manager but have accountability to a Programme/Project Manager for technical development and progress for assigned projects
* Engender a positive attitude and determination that tasks are accurately performed and completed on time
* Travel in UK to customer and subcontractor facilities as necessary and be prepared to travel abroad if requested
* Hold a valid UK driving licence
* Ability to meet and maintain a minimum of SC security clearance.
