Electrical Technical Engineer
Functions
As an Electrical Technical Engineer, you will:
* Design highly dependable interlock hardware and software based on industrial automation controls hardware (Programmable Logic Controllers - PLC).
* Design mechanical components and enclosures for the installation of the systems in the accelerator environment.
* Select and test radiation tolerant industrial components.
* Install and commission these interlock systems in the machines.
Qualification required
Bachelor degree in the field of electricity, electro-mechanics, industrial maintenance and automation, process control or control systems (or equivalent).
*Please note that preference will be given to candidates with the above-mentioned qualifications: In principle consideration will not be given to applications from people with higher qualifications.
Experience and competencies
The experience required for this post is:
* Demonstrated experience in the field of electrical engineering with an emphasis on industrial automation systems.
* Experience of installation, maintenance and operation of industrial systems.
* Experience with concepts and types of industrial automation hardware as well as the relating programming techniques.
* The following experiences would be an asset:
* radiation effects on electronics and mitigation techniques
* quality and reliability assurance techniques and tools such as protection systems
The technical competencies required for this post are:
* Analog circuit testing and measurement techniques: emc compliance, fault identification and electrical qualification of installations.
* Project management.
* Configuration and programming of PLC and fieldbus system / Programming of PLCs: programming of plcs with siemens step7 would be an advantage.
* Analog microelectronic circuit design: design of electronics, based on field programmable logic based devices (fpga) would be an asset.
