Electrical Engineering Technician

The ENGINEERING TECH in this contract position will be responsible for testing custom electrical control panels and executing required testing documents.

OVERVIEW

Functional:

- Wears proper PPE at all times.
- Sets up equipment for test which includes wiring and material handling work.
- Performs testing and completes testing documentation.
- Advises project manager and manufacturing manager of status.
- May work with engineering personnel to perform tests on systems consisting of multiple units.

Leadership:

- Coordinates with other departments as necessary to satisfy project requirements.
- May work with other testing personnel on large projects.

Interpersonal:

- Supports an environment conducive to successful team interaction.
- Interacts with project management, hardware design, and assembly personnel.
- Supports an environment conducive to customer satisfaction.

Business:

- Responsible for meeting project schedule and testing hour budgets.
- Responsible for following all applicable corporate, company, governmental and regulatory policies and procedures as appropriate for this position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Two year technical degree - Electrical or Mechanical or equivalent trade experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience performing electrical test, construction, fabrication, or design work
- Must be able to read and understand electrical elementary diagrams
- Highly desirable to have knowledge of/experience in assembly, installation or design of AC drives, programmable controllers, and/or other industrial electrical equipment
- Ability to work with voltages up to 1000V and wear appropriate PPE
- Must be detail oriented, safety conscious, and have good observation skills
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills
- Must perform duties in a manufacturing facility
- Occasional overtime, weekends and holidays may be required

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Additional education, electrical construction, or test experience a plus
- Ability to use AutoCad
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley Powerflex drives, and PLCs
- Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to industrial control systems including the NEC, NFPA79 and UL508A

This contract position is expected to be 11 - 12 months in duration.
