Electrical Design Engineer - Aerospace

SCOPE

The role is open to engineers with electrical design experience to work within our power distribution business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- To design electrical products and system including the production of product definitions, detailed technical design data & component selection
- To integrate & verify electrical products & systems including supporting products through environmental and EMC qualification test.
- To diagnose and solve design problems in existing products.
- To prepare for and participate in design reviews.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

- To carry out electrical product and system design on electrical power distribution products.
- To work to company and industry standards and design processes
- Implementation and/or modification of product designs
- The ability to produce design calculations to demonstrate design performance.

REQUIRED

- Experience of electrical power distribution and power systems design of AC and/or DC systems up to 100KVA)
- Specification and selection of components
- Electrical design of products including selection of wiring, relays, contactors, circuit breakers and electrical panels.
- Supplier technical liaison
- Technical problem solving and diagnosis skills
- Power distribution, switching and control
- Experience of working within a recognised quality system
- Able to clearly formulate and communicate complex design concepts.
- Having the organisational skills to deliver to budget and schedule with minimal supervision.
- Able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to interface directly with customers

IDEALLY WITH

- Aerospace power distribution experience
- Aerospace wiring practice.
- Understanding of safety and reliability concepts
- Understanding of thermal issues associated with electrical power systems
