Electrical Design Engineer

IMMEDIATE NEED: Family owned engineering services firm needs an Electrical Design Engineer with 5+ years power distribution, lighting, and low voltage engineering and design for the education, higher ed, commercial and institutional markets. This position based in Roanoke VA is offered as a temp to perm with clients intention to bring candidate on a Direct Hire after the evaluation period. Rate is based on experience with per diem and mob and de-mob if applicable. APPLY NOW CLIENT WILL BEGIN SCHEDULING INTERVIEWS NEXT WEEK.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Power distribution, lighting and low-voltage engineering and design
- Requires contact with clients, owners, contractors and participate in client and company meetings
- Responsibility for electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, circuit protection, device selection and coordination
- Review contractor submittals and make recommendations.
- Serve as project manager and as a designated client contact on specific projects.

REQUIREMENTS

- BS in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years experience in electrical engineering design (commercial, educational & institutional preferred)
- Knowledgeable in National Fire Protection Association/National Electrical Code and Standards (NFPA/NEC), ASHRAE 90.1
- Familiarity with Auto CAD and REVIT (training at least) is essential.
- Electrical analysis software familiarity, i.e. Visual, SKM or similar
