Key responsibilities

- Aberdeen-based but will involve regular and ad-hoc visits to Europe
- Work in a multidisciplinary environment with local team members
- Perform independent subsurface analyses proportional and sufficient to inform investment decisions on new, major development capital projects, plus exploration, appraisal and reservoir management work programs
- Management of the internal client's subsurface and reviews of key projects including exploration prospects, as they progress through Project Stage gates toward the final investment decisions
- Prepare annual business plan and reserves submissions in conjunction with other team members
- Play an active role in internal technical networks, and mentor less experienced professionals
- Seek opportunities for two-way technology transfer

Candidate Specification

- Degree in Earth Science related subject (or equivalent). Further qualifications of benefit but not essential.
- Substantial industry experience (10-15 years ideally but some flexibility for quality of experience).
- Operator experience will be beneficial
- Strong teamwork, communication and mentoring skills are required
- Experience in subsurface work processes; integration of seismic, well and production data to evaluate subsurface reserve, resource and risk potential
- Workstation skills, preferably with a basic use or knowledge of Petrel
- Broad technical expertise covering geosciences and with a working knowledge of basic reservoir engineering and experience in both development and exploration
- Ability to convey complex technical and commercial content to key internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to establish and maintain strong professional networks in the industry as well as internally.

This is an excellent opportunity for an all round technically experienced geologist and geophysicist. North Sea experience as well as having worked with asset team in the past will be beneficial.
