Dutch Speaking Senior System Administrator

Proteus Europe is searching for a Dutch speaking Senior System Administrator to work on Linux, Network and Storage. This is a 6 month contract based in Brussels, Belgium.

Our Client:-
The Ministry of the Flemish Community (MVG) was from January 1, 1983 to January 1, 2006 the official organization of the Government of Flanders, where the Flemish Government policy is implemented. The ministry was divided into departments were headed by a Secretary-General. The departments knew another subdivision in administrations. The administrations were led by a Director General.

Your New role:-
Hiring a senior system administrator Linux, network and storage for the IT Operations department of the Department of Digitalization and Organization within the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. This in the framework of the Fisheries projects included in the ICT Steering Plan 2017-2019.

The senior system administrator is part of the LUNSteam, a team that supports linux, (unix), network and storage systems.

The tasks to be fulfilled by this team are:
- Daily management of existing systems, Follow up of backup and monitoring, solving Incidents.
- Design and implementation of major changes, new systems or remove old systems: including hardware installation, patching, inventory, configuration, testing and documentation.

The proposed candidate must have at least 5 years of Full time relevant professional experience in ICT, and this must be evident from the candidates CV.

The position is located in the Department of Digitalization and Organization within the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. This department stands for:
- The coordination and implementation of organizational and HR policies;
- The coordination and implementation of logistics policy;
- The coordination of information policy, information management and support for the digitization of the organization;
- Coordination of data policy, data management;
- Coordination and implementation of IT policy
- The coordination and implementation of the communication policy, including the Flemish Rural Network;
- The financial management of the Flemish Payment Agency, the Flemish Agricultural Investment Fund, the financing instrument for the Flemish fisheries and aquaculture sector and the Common Agricultural Policy Fund;
- Internal Audit.

It is for the IT Operations department within the Department of Digitalization and Organization that the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries wishes to hire a system administrator linux, network and storage. This service IT operation ensures the production and maintenance of the entire computer science structure, both at software and hardware level.

Your Skills and experience:-
Essential Skills:-
- Relevant experience for this feature includes:
- Good practical knowledge of both Cisco data center and Access devices and Firewalls such as: Cisco 3750 Switches, Cisco 6500 Switches, Cisco 2960 Switches, Cisco 4900 Switches, Cisco Routers, Cisco Nexus 3000 Switches, FWSM
- Experience with routing protocols like OSPF, BGP
- Experience with network security like 802.1x, vmps
- Knowledge of Palo-Alto Firewalls
- Basic knowledge of Juniper Firewalls
- Knowledge of Application Delivery Controller products (eg F5, barracuda)
- Good practical knowledge of linux, preferably Suse Linux Enterprise Server
- Experience with linux in an MS Active Directory environment
- Experience with server applications on linux: Apache, jboss, Wildfly, oracle DB, postgresql
- Experience with monitoring (eg nagios)
- Practical experience with cable patching and maintain a rack with patch panels
- Experience with the management of central storage systems: Netapp clustered unloading, HPE 3par, HPE storeonce 6500
- Experience with SAN Switches management
- Experience with linux Scripting: bash and Perl
- Practical knowledge of server hardware (mainly HPE)
