Dutch Speaking Senior Oracle Database Manager

Proteus Europe is searching for a Dutch speaking Senior Oracle Database Manager to join a prestigious client located in Brussels, Belgium. This is a contract role with a duration of 5 months. PLEASE NOTE: The start date is 01/02/2018

The ministry was divided into departments were headed by a Secretary-General. The departments knew another subdivision in administrations. The administrations were led by a Director General.

Your New role:-

Hiring a Senior Oracle Database Manager for the Informatics (ICT) department of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.

The Senior Oracle Database Manager is part of the DBA team, a team that manages mainly oracle databases, and also some postgresql databases. The tasks that have to be fulfilled by this team are:

- Daily management of the existing databases, follow-up of backup and monitoring, resolving incidents.
- Design and implementation of major changes, new databases or delete old databases: including database installation, patching, inventory, configuration, testing and documentation.

The function is situated in the Digitization and Organization within the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.

This department is responsible for:
- The coordination and execution of the organization and HR policy;
- The coordination and implementation of logistics policy;
- The coordination of information policy, information management and support for the digitization of the organization;
- The coordination of the data policy, data management;
- The coordination and implementation of the IT policy;
- The coordination and implementation of the communication policy including the Flemish Rural Network;
- The financial management of the Flemish Paying Agency, the Flemish Agricultural Investment Fund, the financial instrument for Flemish fisheries aquaculture sector and the Common Fund Agricultural policy;
- The Internal Audit.

It is for the IT-Exploitation service within the Digitization and Organization department that the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries wishes to hire a senior Oracle Database Manager. This IT operation service takes care of it in production bringing and keeping the entire IT structure, both on software and hardware level.

Your Skills and Qualifications:-

Essential Skills:-
The proposed candidate must at least have 5 years of Full time relevant professional experience in ICT, and this must be apparent from the candidates CV.

Relevant experience for this function includes:

- Knowledge about general maintenance and monitoring of the functioning of Oracle 11gR2 and 12c databases.
- Knowledge of the management of Oracle users at database level (logins, access rights, security).
- Knowledge of distributed Oracle environments (including replication).
- Knowledge of installations and migrations of Oracle client and server software
- Experience with backups via rman.
- Experience with oracle spatial, oracle text, oracle partitioning
- Knowledge of Oracle problem solving and support.
- Knowledge of the Oracle DBA management software Oracle Entreprise Manager.
- Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of database and SQL tuning.
- Knowledge of the above topics applied to postgresql databases
- Basic knowledge of linux and bash Scripting
- Use of central storage systems in combination with enterprise database systems.
