Drupal Developer Job

DRUPAL DEVELOPER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in New York, NY.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The role will join a team focused on delivering compelling and engaging digital experiences for Sprout's pre-school audience and their families.
- As the lead engineer for SproutOnline, s/he will oversee development, maintenance, and administration of our Drupal 7 site and associated infrastructure.
- The ideal candidate will be able to quickly, independently, and accurately react to requirements and user stories to design, document, develop and deploy web experiences for Sprout.
- Experience with consumer facing websites is a must as well as advanced PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SQL skills.
- The main objective is to serve as the technical lead and owner of SproutOnline.com.
- Develop custom Drupal modules and themes
- Manage Sprout APIs and Web Services - both creating and consuming SOAP or RESTful data
- Help with writing user stories, iteration planning and managing development process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve site issues and maintenance requests
- Document site architecture, changes, specification, etc
- Manage site administration and configuration to ensure site uptime and performance
- Create relationships with Sprout Marketing, Legal, Programing, Creative Services, Ad Sales, Research and other departments to ensure projects and programs meet the wants and needs of the business.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor or Master degree in CS
- Three plus (3+) years experience with Drupal (core & contrib modules, theming, drush, etc)
- Five (5+) years experience with web standards (HTML5, CSS, Javascript (jQuery, AJAX), LAMP environments (Shell, nginx, varnish, memcache), and code management (Git, Jenkins)
- Three (3+) years experience with Flash (streaming video, animation, and AS)
- Three (3+) years experience organizing large data structures (MySQL, Regex)
- Passion for digital as a content platform
- Professional experience with large customer facing websites
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at the same time while working under tight deadlines with limited resources
- Entertainment/media/cable industry and/or kids entertainment experience preferred
- Detail oriented, and have the ability to adapt to changing and shifting requirements quickly
- Experience with DFP, Omniture, thePlatform, Basecamp, Rally, Acquia, New Relic, Akamai, and other popular tools used in modern web development
- Contributor to the Drupal community
- Interest in Android and iOS development
- Understanding of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) development practices
- Understanding of SEO (search engine optimization) best practices
