Draft Design Engineer

WE\'RE LOOKING FOR A QUALIFIED DRAFTER/DESIGNER TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A PREMIUM CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY WITH ONE OF THE COUNTRY\'S LEADING INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION COMPANIES. Under general supervision, this candidate will prepare layout drawings or diagrams of sheet metal components, electrical devices, control tools, structures, etc. from data and specifications submitted by Designers or Engineers.

OVERVIEW

- Calculate dimensions and allowances.
- Compile BOMs and specification sheets.
- Collaborate with Designers on new and special work.
- Revise drawings as necessary and initiate engineering change orders.
- May assign work to and check the work of lower level Drafters.
- Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products.
- May develop software tools including operating systems, compilers, Routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools.
- Creates and modifies detailed drawings using ProE Wildfire 2 software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.
- Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
- Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.
- Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Typically requires an Associate's Degree, technical degree or 4 to 6 years of related experience
- General understanding of RA- Motor control center business
- Experience with ProE programs/J-Link, Toolkit or programming skills a plus

This contract position is expected to be 7 months in duration.
