DOMESTIC CUSTOMER FINANCE CONTROLLER

SALARY £24,692 - £34,252 DEPENDING ON SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To ensure we are in a strong position to continue to grow and meet the demands of our customers we are investing £2 billion over the next 10 years to roll out the mandated Smart Metering Programme and enhance the systems used within our Energy Supply business. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and detailed individual to join the team to control large project budgets.

The focus of this role is to provide concise, accurate and timely financial management information and to advise senior management on all financial matters. You will lead the production of budgets and forecasts and manage cost control processes and monthly accounts, including: manpower/salary costs, invoice payments, contractor and third party costs, inter-departmental cost transfers, and expenses and travel costs. It will be vital that project accounting principles are followed at all times.

You will also be expected to calculate and process monthly accruals, and to actively seek and exploit efficiency opportunities and cost savings across the programme to ensure that the programme continually gets best value for money.

To be successful you should be highly numerate with an ability to communicate clearly at all levels. You should also be able to work to tight deadlines whilst still maintaining attention to detail and you should be comfortable working at an advanced level in Microsoft Excel or similar. Finally, you should be able work closely and cooperate with members of the Finance department.
