Document Controller - Long Term Contract

DOCUMENT CONTROLLER

JOB PURPOSE

To provide Document Control support to key projects ensuring robust management, distribution, storage, and retrieval of important project information and correspondence.

The Document Controller will be required to interface with the project management teams, internal subject matter experts, external contractors and consultants.

Primary responsibilities will be the management of electronic correspondence and document storage and transmittal systems and procedures. Documents including correspondence, drawings and reports will be received and will be registered, stored and distributed electronically for information, use or review by the team.

The role will be for a planned 18 month period and will be based in Gloucester.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Electronic storage and transmittal of project documentation and correspondence including internal distribution and collation of comments.
- Initial implementation of systems and processes for document control as required and on-going continual development
- Generation of reports to allow the on-going monitoring and progressing of the status of documentation, including correspondence and actions arising from interactions with consultants, contractors, external stakeholders and other teams.
- Provision of ad-hoc clerical and administrative support to the project teams.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

- Fully IT literate and able to quickly learn to use new IT packages
- Experience of operating successfully in relevant coordination, technical or project support roles with clear evidence of the transferable skills and personal qualities
- Familiarity with operation of Quality Management/Quality Assurance systems
- Experience in setting up and operating document and record management systems
- Some experience of large construction, infrastructure and/or energy projects would be an advantage
