This is a minimum 6-month contract opportunity with potential to extend. Overview

Our client is seeking a Disaster Recovery Program Manager.

As our Client matures its Disaster Recovery capabilities, they need to establish processes and plans to ensure that the underlying Infrastructure DRP is able to support Business Continuity Plans as they are defined.

This position will coordinate the efforts of several IS groups to establish appropriate disaster recovery plans to support the already defined critical Business Continuity Plans.

The successful candidate will have several years of real world DRP implementation and testing. They will require the ability to understand recommended approaches and be able to offer guidance as to which approaches are more or less likely to succeed.Role and Responsibilities

- Create and manage charter for 2013 Disaster Recovery Program
- Coordinate and monitor efforts of subordinate DRP projects
- Implement and manage centralized DRP template and guidance store
- Monitor and ensure appropriate measurement of submitted DRPs
- Critically review proposals as they are identified during DRP development.

Qualifications

Required Skills

- 6+ years experience in Disaster Recovery
- 10+ years experience in IT
- Successful implementation of disaster recovery plans for an international company
- Managed successful test of disaster recovery plans
- Enough technical depth to understand complex, multifaceted disaster recovery plans
- A detailed understanding of our Client's technical environment including products used, their standard configuration and how they interact with each other across the network
- Knowledge of regulatory and legislative influences on Information Security (eg PIPEDA, DHS, NEB)
- Knowledge of Information Security best practices (eg ISO 17799, NIST, ISF)
- Ability to articulate technical implications to non-technical audiences and negotiate reasonable disaster recovery times with business clients
- Ability to interpret technical recommendations and negotiate reasonable alternatives with technical specialists and architects.
