GIS Disaster Recovery Technical Architect

The Disaster Recovery Technical Architect assumes responsibility for the overall design of Global Infrastructure Services Disaster Recovery delivered service and understands how architectures, strategies, designs and plans fit together.
The role is responsible for delivery and deployment of Disaster Recovery solutions required by Global Infrastructure Services.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
*Provide Disaster Recovery Solutions for Global Infrastructure Services assessed to have a high impact and risk to the business processes they underpin
*Develop and validate solution architectures that will enable the customers to recover business applications within the RTO/RPO requirements
*Responsible for failover/recovery architecture, design and roadmap
*Responsible for partnering with IT Technical Writer to translate and understand the Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity processes in a plan
*Ensures adherence to quality standards as defined by the IT Organization

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Essential:
*Computer-related College or University Degree
*Five plus years of experience architecting enterprise Disaster Recovery Infrastructure solutions

EXPERIENCE
*Significant experience working with critical high availability enterprise applications and services
*Experience with:
oVMWare ESX
oSite Recovery Manager (SRM)
oNetbackup
oTivoli Storage Manager

*Technical experience in Infrastructure Platforms such as:
oStorage
oBackup & Restore
oDatabase
oUnix/Linux
oWindows/ESX/VMWare

PRODUCT/MARKET/CUSTOMER KNOWLEDGE
*Experience with SUNGARD AssuranceCM Software a plus

SKILLS/JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE
*Provides authoritative technical guidance to external and/or internal stakeholders
*Proficiency with virtualization, cloud and automation
*Thorough understanding of IT Disaster Recovery at both a technical and business level
*Ability to translate Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity plan processes
