Our customer is a multinational software company that provides server, application and desktop virtualization, networking, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and cloud computing technologies and is currently looking to fill the position of Director Pre-Sales DACH.

Your key tasks:
Leading teams of highly specialized technical resources whose goal is to support the sales organization for all pre-sales customer engagements in the DACH region. Supervise, mentor, and delegate to team leads or other managers who are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a team of systems engineers. Understand the clients overall business and how to position the products, messaging and services and be an authority on industry standard technologies.
- Responsible for overseeing that their team is effectively supporting the sales revenue opportunities of their sales area.
- Responsible for driving the professional development of the systems engineering staff, including mentorship, training, and performance evaluation.
- The position requires the ability to multi-task between team members in their support of different clients, sales opportunities, and other initiatives.
- Lead pre-sales technical teams in order to optimize sales and revenue volume.
- Collaborate with senior level sales management and teams to help define the sales strategy and ensure forecast objectives are met to sales cycle engagement.
- Define best practices to systems engineering management in the areas of product demonstrations, proof of concepts, RFPs, overcoming sales objections and technical sales presentations.
- Perform key functions to recruit top quality engineers and management including interviewing, hiring, monitoring, employee feedback and documentation, counseling and coaching, and performance management / improvement when needed.
- Work with senior management to set budgets and implement plan.
- Develop strategies to motivate systems engineering team and management and build sense of team engagement through incentive, reward, and recognition programs that connect individuals' and teams' contributions to the organizations objectives.
- Assess skill sets and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members and managers in order to meet objectives, reinforce sales methodology and provide guidance on career path direction.

Your profile:
- Degree in a related field or similar education
- Several years of professional experience in direct selling of complex technical business solutions in the enterprise area and strong understanding of business drivers for line of business solutions within enterprise organizations.
- Advanced level of specialized sales and product solution knowledge and a solid understanding of customers competitive domain and technologies.
- Able to understand the clients strategy and customers delivery infrastructure solution strategy to a technical level of detail for the specific technical area and coach systems engineering teams on the same.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as excellent presentation skills; ability to lead meetings internally and externally.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM and opportunity management systems, preferably Salesforce.com.
- Proven technical and tactical problem solving skills and experience with complex engineering designs. Must have the ability to explain complex ideas and schemas and train Systems Engineering team.
- Knowledge of Microsoft architecture, networking, Active Directory, DNS, routing, switching, desktop and server virtualization, terminal services, VPNs, etc.
- Self-motivation, self-management and professionalism with advanced organizational, negotiation, problem solving skills and team building skills.
- Ability to travel on a frequently base
- Fluent in German and English
