Director of IT Architecture and Infrastructure

Our client is an enterprise financial services and support organization seeking a Director to be responsible for leading the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of infrastructure, help desk, and security initiatives. Candidate must be a consummate professional with high expectations for delivery and customer service as well as depth of technical knowledge.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, Direct and Manage the Daily Operations of the Infrastructure Department

- Supervise a team of Technology team members, vendors and outside consultants
- Advise and establish policies and procedures
- Develop and meet department expense and budget requirements
- Collaborate with technology stakeholders to implement information technology solutions that are cost effective and enable the corporation to achieve its business goals and objectives

Oversee All Aspects of Technology Infrastructure

- Develop recommendations and supervise the selection, implementation and support of data, voice transmission, and processing technology, including networks, computer hardware, systems software telephony, Internet access, and office technology used by the client
- Provide technical guidance and manage activities of infrastructure team in support of new technology related projects
- Provide project management for infrastructure related projects utilizing client Project Management tools and procedures
- Manage IT Security Policies and Practices
- Determine the applicability of current regulations and best practices
- Develop, implement and enforce Technology security policies and procedures
- Develop, implement and maintain Business Continuity, and Privacy and Security plans, processes, and documentation
- Manage interactions with third party auditors regarding security and privacy issues

Systems Administration

- Direct and as necessary, perform day-to-day operations and administration of technical infrastructure, including Servers, Firewalls, Switches, Routers, remote access devices and other technologies
- Manage technical resources and perform hands-on assistance as necessary in the troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity issues in the technical infrastructure supporting the operations

Technical Support

- Lead first, second and third-tier support of systems and applications including deployment, operations, administration, maintenance and enhancements
- Manage Vendor Relationships
- Identify and procure products, services and technology to support M Technology operations
- Manage relationships with Technology vendors, including RFQs, RFPs, contracts and NDA negotiations, performance, payment and licensing issues

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business or computer related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible, related experience with data and voice communications technology, and desktop hardware and software implementation and support
- Strong knowledge of and experience with multiple operating systems and Servers, including Windows and Linux, SQL Server, IIS, SharePoint and Exchange
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
- Knowledge of and experience with Firewalls, Routers, IDS/IPS, DLD/DLP, Switches and other networking devices
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills with proven ability to keep track of, prioritize, and report status of multiple projects
- Experience performance analysis, failure mode analysis and remediation processes
- Demonstrated experience supporting information security and risk management processes
- Demonstrated progressive experience supervising and managing IT technicians, engineers, vendors and consultants
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and to analyze service statistics to develop tactical and strategic improvement recommendations
- Knowledge of and experience with three-tiered application architecture management
- Ability to work effectively, both independently as well as a member of a team
- Highly professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information to a non-technical audience
- Proficiency with failure, backup and recovery processes
- Proven ability to work with changing requirements and priorities
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines while maintaining high standards of customer service
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to Member Firms, Carriers and internal team members
- Ability to be available for after hours support and weekend work
- Moderate travel required (up to 15%)
- On-call 7x24 needed for selected problem types
