My Public Sector client is looking for a Director of Human Resources to join them on an initial 6 month contract. You will be based between their Bristol and Nottingham site.

PURPOSE OF JOB

- As a member of the Executive Teams
- Provide strategic direction for the client
- Deliver business results
- Build capability for them to address current and future challenges
- Act with integrity
- Strategic leadership and delivery of the current and future human resource requirements for the Agencies
- As a member of the DfT HR leadership team work collaboratively to develop and embed the Group HR model and lead Group HR workstreams

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Full contribution as executive Director on both Directing Boards on all matter relating to the successful running of the client.
- Champion decisions made by the Directing Boards and role model the Agencies' values and people principles
- Board level "business partner" to champion the people agenda in support of achieving the organisation's strategic and business objectives
- Support the DfT HRD to embed the DfT HR Group Model and take forward cross Government initiatives eg CSHR etc
- Develop and drive the new ways of working and embed the required behaviours through appropriate challenge and development at board level
- Strengthen the alignment between performance management, business objectives and reward and contribute to developing a culture of continuous improvement
- Manage key stakeholders relationship within the Agency, Department and Central Departments as appropriate including negotiations with the Treasury, to secure agreement to proposals for change
- Create a climate for good employee relations in the client through effective communication and practice and strong partnership approach
- Contribute to the implementation of major organisational change initiatives, leading the people perspective
- Develop workforce planning and career development approaches which deliver return on investment and optimise opportunities to progress the talent and diversity agendas
- Develop, implement and maintain HR strategies and operational plans to meet business needs and key targets, through clear deliverable goals
- Lead the delivery of HR services to the highest standards in support of achieving business goals
- Develop, implement and maintain the clients HR policies and procedures framework
