Adelphi University seeks a director for its Center for Health Innovation (CHI, chi.adelphi.edu/ ). CHI is a multi-disciplinary institute linking academic programs in Community and Public Health, Mental Health, Personal Health and Wellness, Environmental Health, and Clinical Care across seven of the University's schools. The CHI's aim is to become the primary resource in the region and beyond for innovative, multidisciplinary, evidence-based responses dedicated to improving healthcare, healthcare systems, and public health.

As a senior-level appointment, the Director will play a pivotal role in the continued growth of the CHI and will establish Adelphi's identity as a thought leader in collaborative problem-solving around issues of health, develop and design innovative educational programming, enhance community health endeavors, and create opportunities for faculty members to pursue important research with community partners. These goals will be reached through a multi-pronged program including:

- support of Adelphi degree and non-degree programs designed to provide the kind of innovative education needed by the regional health care organizations;
- the establishment and dissemination of collaborative research projects addressing pressing challenges such as obesity, autism, and emergency preparedness;
- establishment of research, foundation and philanthropic support with faculty stakeholders;
- development of public and professional educational events;
- development of public research programs on health-related issues through relevant polling activities;
- support of programs and white papers through Adelphi's Institute for Parenting and Institute for Social Research and Community Engagement (iSoRCE); and
- collaboration with a prominent Advisory Board, selecting and mentoring internal and external Faculty Fellows and community partners;

The Director will report to the Provost and work with all academic Deans, including the Dean of the School of Nursing who is Academic Director for the CHI's affiliated degree programs. Qualified candidates will have a related terminal degree, creative thinking, excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration across institutions and within Adelphi, at least five years of senior-level positions in a public health, hospital or academic setting, and experience with multi-constituent projects and new project management.
