Digital/Web Analyst

Background
Our Central Government client is currently recruiting for a Product Analyst for a 2 month contract based in London.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
The role involves working with the existing team of Product Analysts to ensure the accurate collection of digital analytics for the GOV.UK website, other government web properties and transactional services. The team is responsible for the data quality of digital analytics and reporting. The role will involve working on functional and Embedded projects, using your digital analytics expertise to help instrument, capture accurate data, provide actionable analysis and reporting.

Outputs/Deliverables to be achieved
* Supporting the existing team in the management and development of:
o Analytics instrumentation
o Tagging
o Views or slices of data
o User administration
o Supporting users to derive accurate and actionable data
o Engaging and actionable reports
o Provide instrumentation and analytical advice to website/service owners. Analyse online and offline data sources to derive priority user needs and patterns. For services
o Supporting development teams and service managers to instrument transactions appropriately to capture user journeys and completion rates. Assist with training and knowledge transfer of digital analysis principles to wider audiences

Skills/Experience Required
Essential:
Strong proficiency with Google Analytics and other digital analytics platforms: instrumenting, administration and analysis. Experience of using of Google Analytics API. Ability to discover and share analytical insight with stakeholders with various levels of analytical expertise and at all levels of seniority. Experience of gathering and understanding technical client requirements and working with developers to build suitable technical solutions. Good proficiency with spreadsheets, including use of Pivot tables. Experience of working in an agile, project-based environment, focussed on delivering user needs. Experience of identifying outcomes and ROIs in a publishing environment. Attention to detail. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills Desirable. Google Analytics IQ Certified. Knowledge of JavaScript, browser technology, cookie behaviour. Experience of working with tag management systems. Demonstrate knowledge of data analysis and visualisation principles and tools eg Google Refine, Tableau, GA dashboards
