Digital Video Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Responsible for integration of third party transcoder software releases.
- Key duties will include the analysis and characterization of transcoding and streaming issues to mobile client devices.
- The contractor will also act as a resource for resolving customer, vendor and product integration issues and support implementation of new customer features.
- Looking for someone who is high functioning who has experience with integrating device drivers and will chase customer issues using a ticketing system.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Software integration of vendor releases.
- Configuration adjustments based on customer requirements.
- Determine root cause of customer reported issues related to transcoding and streaming to mobile clients.
- Learn and follow established processes for development, review and delivery of code, and tracking and management of defects and new feature development

SKILLS:

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- BSEE/BSCS with 5+ years experience
- Expertise in Embedded system design and debugging
- In-depth understanding of C and C++
- Experience developing software for Linux OS
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, UPnP, DLNA, DTCP)
- Working knowledge of networking interfaces (Ethernet, USB)

NICE TO HAVE:

- Knowledge of video standards and transcoding.
- Experience with digital cable set top boxes.
