Digital Test Lead

Scope of work

* Test Strategy Definition for digital projects, commissioning and managing test data
* Leading small team of testers and mobilising other digital staff to support testing as required, monitoring progress and lessons learned around testing
* Providing estimates and metrics to project teams
* Reviewing project requirements to ensure requirements are testable at the outset
* Writing test plans and scripts
* Managing requirements/config for test environments and liaising with build agency or other internal departments as needs. Liaising with users when code is dropped into stages of test e.g., UAT
* Configuration Management of environments
* Moving code between environments and arranging for security access to environments

Expected knowledge/experience:

* The ability to manage and take accountability for all phases of testing required on the assignment, giving direction and leadership to testing and test assurance analysts, and providing expert advice to stakeholders and senior managers on testing and test management.
* Responsible for defining the Test Approach or Strategy and for securing stakeholder sign-off, thus establishing clear understanding of the testing scope, objectives and dependencies.
* Responsible for securing agreement of unit testing approach with development manager (internal or third party) and for validation of the resulting unit test evidence.
* Understanding business priorities and being accountable for ensuring that these are met by efficient test coverage.
* Accountable for the quality of the Test Plan including test scenarios, scripts, and expected results, and for maintaining strict version control.
* Responsible for ensuring the correct use of testing tools and techniques, and for conformance to agreed standards.
* Accountable for ensuring that all aspects of the test plan are tested to the required extent.
* Accountable for ensuring that all issues that might affect successful execution of testing are logged as soon as possible so that the associated risk can be assessed and managed.
* Proven leadership ability, motivates others to meet targets without compromising quality.
