Digital Developer - Agile - HTML - London

Digital Developer x2 - Agile, HTML required for a Government Client based London.

The Developer will work within an agile multi-disciplinary team of Developers, Designers, and Analysts focussed on designing, creating and improving new and existing products, platforms and transactions across the organisation; Implement APIs for internal and external use; Build up a useful, robust automated test suite to support a continuous deployment environment; Have knowledge of tools and techniques used within the wider team, both Developers and Non-Developers; Take part in 2nd-line support of applications and platforms; Have experience building Server Side web applications and have detailed knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS.

Design, create and improve new and existing products, platforms and transactions across the organisation; Have strong skills in Front End or Back End web developer (or both) and be ready to quickly get to work within a multi-disciplinary team of developers, designers, editors, and analysts focussed on one or more products or projects; Build web and mobile products to serve a variety of users'' needs; Implement APIs for internal and external use; Build up a useful, robust automated test suite to support a Continuous Deployment environment; Share knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team, both developers and non-developers; Take part in 2nd-line support of applications and platforms.

Essential experience required:

building Server Side web applications and detailed knowledge of the ruby programming language and detailed understanding and experience of Front End web development (HTML/CSS/JS).

An ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

Experience working on technical projects within a team.

Working knowledge of unix-like operating systems such as Linux and/or Mac OS X

Knowledge of the use of version control systems such as subversion or git.

Desirable

Knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems.

System administration and configuration management skills.

Experience of building and scaling high-traffic websites.

Understanding of the use of Responsive Web Design.
