Development Officer

Annual Salary - £35,500 - £59,500

Full Time - 37 Hours per Week

12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Based in Chelmsford County Hall

Essex County Council is undergoing the largest transformation programme of its kind in the UK and technology is recognised as being strategically critical to this innovative and radical transformation. Information Services is at the forefront of delivering this technological change.

The IS Strategy team delivers a range of functions that support and complement the technological transformation. The team's focus is on improving service quality and developing strong partner and stakeholder relationships, embedding best practice and professionalism and demonstrating the value of IS to the business, improving service quality and developing strong partner and stakeholder relationships. Other aspects of the team's work include risk and performance management, governance and legal compliance and security.

Thinking both strategically and innovatively, the Development Officer is responsible for keeping abreast of new technology developments and their potential for use in Essex to improve and transform service provision.

This includes engaging with business areas as well as suppliers to identify and develop new opportunities. IS is committed to successful partnership working across the county, and this role will develop and strengthen working relationships with colleagues across the public and voluntary sectors as well as forging strong links with technology suppliers to ensure the county benefits from opportunities that can be realised by technology developments and collaborative working.

Any successful applicant to this post would be appointed on a fixed term contract.
