Development Architect

Support architecture leads for creation of system architecture document, operation architecture.

Support testing lead for creation of the test analysis and design document.

Accountable for performing the detailed design of application and technology architecture components and classes.

Creation of technical backlog.

Define reusable pattern to minimize effort.

Accountable for the integrity of the developer branch.

Define which application components are required to implement each of the required functional/
business capabilities, which component will be built vs. re-used vs. integrated with, and how.

Understand how the components of all the applications relate to each other, and how the facilities (new or existing) will support the capability or business area.

Ensure the application components align with the runtime and operations architectures and meet application performance goals.

Identify and address application and data issues that affect application integrity.

Identify cross-capability and cross-release issues that affect the business architecture integrity.

Work with other architects to ensure the application components align with a specific architecture component and meet performance goals.

Work with other architects to select the operating alternatives that form the overall operating strategy and business architecture.

Identify risks and assumptions associated with the applications.

Follow good security coding practices to ensure the application is free of most common coding vulnerabilities.

Participate in code reviews.

Perform code profiling by using appropriate tools to confirm coding compliance with application development standards.

Ensure non functional design coverage (stress tests, performance tests) .

Ensure documentation of code during development for maintainability.

Ensure automated unit test scripts are used as part of a continuous integration development process.

Check code coverage of unit and assembly tests and ensure it meets expectations.

Configure, build, and test the application or technology architecture components and classes.

Utilize the project's development architecture tools, with daily usage of the software configuration management tool to check-in, and comment upon, code changes.

Ensure documentation of changes to the code for traceability and updates of the traceability Matrix or other requirements tracking tool.

Inform the architect and project manager of any issues that may affect any other areas of the project.

Participate in transitions of the application or technology architecture components to the testers.

Analyze critical defects and performance problems discovered during testing.

Document the application to facilitate maintenance.

Define quality gates for checking readiness releases.
