Developer Analyst - Insurance Ratings

MAJOR DUTIES

- Responsible for configuration of rating rules in a rules based engine to be utilized with the policy administration system processing.
- Responsible for configuration of business and rating rules for web site screen development including connectivity to the rules based engine and policy administration system.
- Responsible for partnering with business/user group representatives to understand business processes and underlying informational and/or process automation needs.
- Responsible for defining system data structure and data elements based on business requirements of business/user groups and their carrier partners.
- Responsible for translating business needs into formal and clearly documenting business requirements so that they can be used as input for system design
- Assist in prioritizing requirements based on business benefit/impact and cost.
- Responsible for unit testing
- Assist in developing and conducting QA acceptance testing plans and criteria
- Assist with system support of developed applications through the unique combination of business and system analysis, quality assurance and post implementation product support.

KNOWLEDGE

- Prefer 1-3 years with programming experience including college courses and projects.
- Business knowledge of Insurance Underwriting, Policy Administration also preferred.
- Familiarity with systems development life cycle and systems development methodologies.
- Broad knowledge of data modelling techniques.
- Knowledge of Client Server applications

EDUCATION

- Prefer Bachelors Degree with Major in one of the following fields: Computer Science; Mathematics; Actuarial Science; Finance; Insurance
