Developer

  Design, codes, unit tests, and debugs Java source code for Server Side applications.
Works in Agile XP process framework and participates in iteration development, stand-ups, code walkthroughs, and pair programming.
Contributes to task identification, work effort estimates, work schedules for development and maintenance activities.
Participates in the analysis and definition of efficient, cost effective application solutions which support client business processes and functional requirements.
Works with internal departments to provide associated deliverables required for the successful completion of development & maintenance assignments, database development, network support, help desk orientation, client training).
Completes administrative requirements in an accurate and timely manner (time reporting, status reporting, etc).
Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

NOTE
This developer will also need to be able to work independently with minimal direction.
The resource will be required to be on site in downtown Oakland.
The required duration of the effort will be no less than 12 months

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. (min level of edu: Bachelors req)
Five (5) years experience in developing enterprise Java applications, with strong experience in Server Side development (EJB, JSP, JMS, etc). Proficient in JAVA, EJB development. C# desirable.
3 or more years development experience in IBM WebSphere stack, including expertise with RAD 7, 8 IDE.
Thorough knowledge of HTML.
Experience with development in interactive development process, ie RUP, Agile SCRUM or XP.
Understanding of SOA Web Services and application integration technologies.
Strong skills required in critical thinking, analysis, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions.
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Expertise in SQL and experience with relational RDBMS, like Oracle preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing and implementing SOA Web Services
Knowledge of JSP, JavaScript, and AJAX technology and have implemented some projects with these technologies.
Experience with Flex enterprise development, highly desirable.
Experience with Flex MATE framework, desirable.
Knowledge of WebSphere Application Server administration and deployment desirable..
Experience working with version control software (CVS).
