THE COMPANY:
The finance division of one of the world's leading media companies.
THE JOB:
2nd line deskside support with some software development integrated into the role. You will write handy little scripts, find bugs and resolve them, install new applications across the business, set up web Servers, ad-hoc coding tasks and work as a technical consultant to support the internal systems of the client company.
There will be 60% support and 40% development in the role,
YOU:
- have 2+ years' experience in 2nd line support or technical support. You might have moved from 1st level to 2nd level support.
- IT based degree or relevant experience
- Any development experience in one of the following:
- Java
- Python
- C++
- Ruby
- Perl
- Any other programming language
- Stammering of Linux
- An itch for solving the problems no one else wants to touch.
- Customer facing skills
This role would ideally suit a person who wished to move from support to development in the next 1-3 years. If you have been working in 2nd level support and would like to stretch out your coding skills, this could be the role for you.
