Desktop Support Officer - Citrix - Help Desk - Applications

Our Client a progressive government body in the western suburbs of Victoria is looking for a highly skilled SUPPORT OFFICER to proficiently support corporate business applications and associated systems to ensure that council is able to meet its corporate goals and objectives.

Reporting to the Network Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining the desktop fleet including patching, replacement and installation of supported applications. You will manage and performance tune Citrix systems, networks and applications to ensure high levels of availability and security for the supported business applications.

SPECIALIST SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

- Excellent Citrix skillsincluding XenApp, XenDesktop and PVS.
- Good knowledge of PC/Thin Client and peripheral hardware.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating System.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft SCCM
- Good knowledge of Packaging software and techniques ie (Wise)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and general software applications including MDOP.
- Knowledge of other application virtualization solutions ie AppV
- Knowledge of VmWare ESXi.
- Knowledge of general networking concepts.
- Knowledge of Outlook/Exchange.
- Knowledge of Database Concepts.
- Understanding of long term goals and policies of unit and wider organisation.
- Highly developed research and analytical skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

- An appropriate tertiary qualification or industry certification.
- Substantial experience working in a Citrix environment.
- Strong understanding in Microsoft SCCM.
- Windows XP/7 Managed Operating Environment.
- Microsoft Exchange/Outlook.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory for Windows Server 2008 R2.
- General networking and database concepts.
- Experience with SCCM, WISE, VB Scripting
