Desk Top Support Specialist

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a DESKTOP SUPPORT SPECIALIST to join our client in Rochester, NY.

Job Responsibilities:
- Primary job function, script off the shelf Windows based software installs and updates/ upgrades using in house Scripting program, Wise Scripts and PowerShell
- Install new systems and upgrades, both remotely over phone and desk side
- Software testing of new features and changes prior to release
- Field incoming calls from clients and answer questions, resolve issues, troubleshoot problems, and research to find the causes of issues
- Follow the issue from start to finish, including escalation to development and programming when necessary Perform root-cause analysis on issues and make recommendations for corrective action
- Track projects and tickets in issue tracking system
- Create white papers, videos and other instructive materials for use by our clients and the internal team Provide complete and timely feedback for all work, including but not limited to call logs, checklists, client correspondence, and escalation of any issue
- Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Qualifications:
- This position requires an Associate's degree in related computer field
- Three years of experience with Scripting Windows based software installs and upgrades
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft Windows 7, Linux, XP
- Working knowledge of HTML and other web-based tools preferred Minimum 2 years of technical and customer service experience
- Excellent problem solving skills are required.
- Must have excellent listening skills and speak clearly and concisely and be easily understood.
- Must be service oriented.
- Must be able to travel and be able to carry light computer equipment, and in some training instances, assist with room set-up.
- Must have good writing and spelling skills with the ability to document technical issues in a clear and effective manner with appropriate detail.
