Designer/Functional Analyst, Windows Communication, Banking, Brussels

OBJECTIVE: My client is a Brussels based international bank. They have a new web-based corporate actions tool ( Application ) that allows customers to connect to the bank and use its services through a client communication interface. The bank is now seeking a Designer/Functional Analyst, to enhance the design of the Application and support it.

TASKS:

- deliver the Design within time and budget and with the required quality (ie. according to business requirements and design guidelines);
- translate Business requirements into Design specifications (show interest in functional design and Business understanding);
- cooperate with the stakeholders of your projects (eg. review business requirements, support build and integration, etc.);
- maintain your design products until project deployment with the same discipline as during the design phase;
- in the scope of project base-lining, deliver high level designs (for complex projects or programs) and the corresponding budget and planning;
- be responsible to implement and support (in close collaboration with the IT Infrastructure teams and the outsourcing partner) the design and coding guidelines for distributed development;
- recognise risks and define appropriate mitigating actions within your projects related to Design;
- be in contact with IT Infrastructure teams to provide them with a clear and complete information on the applications (technical context and physical topology);
- trigger and take part in initiatives aiming at improving productivity of the design skill and the quality of the delivered products (eg. propose improvements to the application architecture and architectural guidelines applicable to own domain of activity, propose enhancements to design guidelines);
- provide an efficient support to 1st and 2nd line support teams
- act as coach for several build experts; share expertise within the community of application designers;
- be an active member of the community of designers and builders working in the distributed environment;

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

-3 to 5years experience as a Designer.
- VB.NET;
- Web 2.0 - Javascript (JQuery), HTML, CSS;
- Team Foundation Server;
- Standard development patterns (eg. M.V.C.);
- Cross-platforms integration mechanisms (eg MQ Series, Connect Direct, etc);
- SQL Server 2008/2012;
- SCRUM;

Some knowledge of Back Office banking activities, in particular any one of collateral management, settlement or custody would be a plus.
