Design Modeller

Our client is a global leader within the Aerospace sector is currently looking for Product Deination Engineer. The Engineering team, which you will be part of, comprises of an integrated multi-skilled team of designers, modellers and analysis engineers responsible for defining the engineering solution. This job require good technical competence and people skills are required along with proficient organisational and planning capabilities.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Taking ownership of packages of work assigned and checking other peoples work. (Work Packages will vary from simple engine components to highly complex assemblies). Examples include large casings, large fabricated assemblies, castings (large & small), sheet metal fabricated assemblies, pipe assemblies and sheet metal brackets.
- Specification & leadership of component packages.
- Checking component models and detail drawings in line with company practices & procedures that meet design intent, satisfying fit, form and function, and are optimised for manufacture.

Knowledge & Skills:

- HNC standard or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
- Good knowledge of and ability in, using 3D parametric modelling and draughting software. Ideally Unigraphics NX6
- Previous knowledge and experience with ASME Y.14.5M - 1994
- Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Understanding of Max Metal applications and Geometric tolerancing.
